Outsourcing is the strategic sourcing model for transferring responsibility for goods or services to a specialist external service provider. It can include services such as ICT, cleaning, warehousing, catering, call centres. Business process outsourcing involves the taking over and running of business processes such as HR, finance, real estate and procurement. Offshoring and nearshoring are where outsourcing leverages the global market and uses highly skilled work forces from regions with low costs of living for service delivery, such as India, South America, China and Eastern Europe.
