Principal Contractor

Under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007, a Principal Contractor has to be appointed for projects which last more than 30 days or involve 500 person days of construction work.

The Principal Contractor's role is to plan, manage and co-ordinate health and safety while construction work is being undertaken. The Principal Contractor is usually the main or managing contractor for the work.

AiM can operate as the managing contractor and hence Principal Contractor for construction projects (new builds or refurbishments) up to £500,000 in value (exclusive of VAT).  We agree the client brief and then manage the project works successfully to time and budget with our professional and trades' partners:

We can also undertake removals and relocation of staff and ICT equipment into new or refurbished premises.
