Methods & Tools

We are committed to applying the very latest and best industry best practice methods, tools and standards - used in both the private and public sectors - in support of our services and to the benefit of your organisation.  Indeed, on occasions the service objective is for us to ensure an organisation is compliant with a
particular standard in order for it to be certified, eg against one of the international quality management standards as proof that quality assurance processes are in place and working.

There is nothing more compelling than the knowledge that an approach or solution we propose and implement conforms to an industry recognised method, standard or code of practice, providing a proven benchmark of control and success.  That being said, we also recognise that the investment an organisation may need to make in complying with certain methods and standards can be relatively high and may not be commensurate with its business needs, level of risk or budget.

We recognise this dichotomy in two ways.  Firstly and in keeping with our business driver principles, we always try to offer a pragmatic alternative in which focus is only made on the key value-adding elements of a method or standard.  Secondly, we have developed our own proprietary range of pragmatic methods and templates where equivalents do not exist in the public domain or where simpler alternatives have a role to play.  We are committed to the continuous improvement of our proprietary products ensuring that they continue to offer organisations the very best in control and insight.

Although this may mean that an organisation is not strictly compliant with a method or standard, the level of control adopted will be commensurate with its needs, level of perceived risk and the investment it is prepared to make.

In much the same way we use a range of tools – in conjunction with methods and standards application or separately - to assist with the delivery of our services.  These tools can range from highly sophisticated to simple and pragmatic.  Many are software based.

A selection of methods, standards (or legal requirements) and tools we use include, but are not limited to, the following – organised in accordance with our service offering.
